John Smucker: Smuckerjohn@hotmail.com; 301-473-6844
Veteran middle school teacher and tree planting expert, John Smucker has led hundreds of volunteers and planted thousands of trees next to streams throughout Frederick County. John has always had a drive to protect the environment but his passion for trees stemmed from witnessing a failing tree planting in his neighborhood years ago. His curiosity and discoveries led to saving the trees. As he researched how to help the seedlings he fell in love with the process and began dropping acorns in empty tree shelters of other failing plantings. John leads Stream Link Education with mission to “connect community with conservation”.
